Like everybody said, Winter is very useful, luring one by itself and everybody surrounding it.
Also knocking them down is a big help. First time I tried this with a group we all ended up with -60% DP, a 7 party group and only 1 healer, yet we still managed to (almost) kill one with continuous knock-downs. Was a breeze second time. |

Actually Mesmers aren't too efective against this guy. He's hard to shutdown in that he's a warrior that nukes with a skill. Not too many of those going around. Said skill appears to have a .25 activate time so you can't interupt it with Cry of frustration. It's a monster skill so you can't steal it with Arcane Thievery. My Mes/Nec and a Ele/Mes both spammed diversion on it and consuming flames still got through (I'm guessing it has multiple copies on it's skill bar). Basically it looks like the only way to shut this guy down with mesmer skills is Blackout. Or Imagined Burden if you want to kite him.
I just normally go, "Group! Ball Formation!", that works. Last edited by QuixotesGhost; Sep 10, 2005 at 05:00 AM // 05:00.. |

Easy way to beat Djinn: Lure it back to the Furnace Guardians. They make short work of it, you just have to watch.

Just a quick question does anyone know if the skill "Comsuming Flame" the the flame djinn uses is capturable with a signet. Because that is one bad motha of a skill. Even though the dmg would not be 400 for a lvl character it would still be remarkably useful in combat against several enemies. If anyone is able to capture this let me know.

Being a (monster skill), much like Wurm Seige, it is not capturable.

There's another way to defeat them...spam the kegs! It will knock them down and they won't attack.
Credit to the person who told me this. I don't know if I can put her name in here. |

I've taken similar damage from Meteors that the hydras just outside of the Ember Light Camp call down.
A competent Fire elementalist player could be just as bad, really. Air magic is just so much more popular in PvP... probably because of the exhaustion and blindness it causes. |

The party setup I was in when we beat that mission was: 2 healing monks, Lina, 2 warriors (inc. Devona), 2 elementalists (both fire iirc) and a minion necro. |

i was in a PUG tonight doing final assault and we literally got raped by the 3 flame djinns for probably 30 minutes. sitting at 60 dp, there wasnt much that we could do.
however, we did find a way to beat them and if you look at the my screen shots, they do not show any hp loss. no the photos were not chopped. i still have the original 2mb print screens sitting in my folder if anyone wants to see them. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...893#post476893 |

I've finally finished that mission on my third try!!! Man I tell you, it was nuts! In our group we had one person that doesn't speak english and she was aggroing everything. Everything one of our party spoke to her, all she does is stay quiet or infinitely say "lol." (O_o) We found out she was from China... Lucky we had someone in our group that could speak Chinese. It was pretty funny seeing her translate the directions to the Chinese person. I wish I had taken pictures of that (-_-)' Once she knew what to do, we finally beat that friggin mission. Thanks to our little monk girl who translated the directions to her or we would've been screwed.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAA! I think you're Goerge W. Bush since he is that stupid. The mesmer is the best profession in the game. We can counter exactly everything. If you played during the betas, ANET & NCSoft recommended not to play as a mesmer as your starting character since they're hard to play with. Also, it's the hardest profession to control. The easiest profession to control would be the warrior and the elementalist. If I'm not mistaken, I think that shit of yours is coming from a n00b ranger. Now, I wouldn't say Mesmers are the strongest. Wether a profession is the "strongest" can only be defined by the player. However, it's wrong to say that Mesmers suck. In the right hands, any profession can be deadly and even a Warrior can stink in the hands of a newbie. It all depends on the skills of the player.
But it's true, though, that Mesmer is a tough profession to learn to use properly. Using the right skills at the right moment is essential. But in my opinion, all the profession are pretty easy to learn, but hard to master. The Mesmer is just harder to learn to use, but is equally hard to master as the Warrior profession. |

Since the Djinn's damage is divided between all the targets, mob him with masses of minions, pets, melee him with the whole team, even the casters and drag the npcs in too. Oh look, he's suddenly doing about 20-30 damage instead of 400. OMGWTFPWNed.

The only people who think that mesmers are the strongest class are those who were either A.) beaten by one, B.) Just figured out how to use it and think they are "leet" C.) Like bragging about being the most underplayed class in the PvE side. So where you get it as being the best is beyond me, a mesmer can counter alot of crap, Casters more than Warriors or Rangers, but that doesn't make them better than everyone else. Lets make a list.... We have rangers, which you called noobs, perhaps the best counter to a mesmer. Perhaps you are pissed at being killed by them? So quick list now... Ranger > Mesmer > Elementalist/Necro/Monk > Warrior > Ranger... etc.... |
